More than a catalog, a complete industrial partner

Most industrial conveyor suppliers in Quebec sell standard catalog parts: you order online, you receive by truck, and you figure out installation, commissioning and maintenance on your own. When a bearing breaks at 3 a.m. during harvest, you call a third-party supplier who wasn't there when the system was designed.

CFI Industries works differently. We design your conveyor based on your space, throughput, transported material and OHS constraints. We fabricate it in our shop in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. We install and commission it with our own CWB-certified crews. And when something breaks, we're there — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This vertical integration matters in three crucial ways: (1) total cost of ownership over 20 years is lower than a standard conveyor plus third-party maintenance; (2) reliability is higher because every weld is traced and CWB W47.1 certified; (3) response time is unbeatable — our mechanics know your installation because they built it.

FAQ · 06

Frequently asked questions about industrial conveyors

The questions we get most often before a quote. If yours isn't here, call us at 418 321-1675.

How much does a custom industrial conveyor cost?

Price depends on five factors: (1) length, (2) capacity (t/h or kg), (3) transported material, (4) environment (indoor, outdoor, food-grade, hazardous), (5) automation level. As a guide, a 10 m gravity roller conveyor starts much lower than a 20 m bucket elevator capable of 200 t/h. For a precise quote, fill the quote form or call 418 321-1675 — we provide a budget range within 24 h.

What's the lead time to fabricate and install a conveyor?

For a stock-design conveyor (rollers, standard belt): 4 to 8 weeks from signing to commissioning. For a complex custom conveyor (bucket elevator, integrated system): 10 to 16 weeks. For emergencies (post-failure replacement), our standard parts inventory enables 48 h intervention in many cases.

Do you do emergency repairs on existing conveyors?

Yes. Our 24/7 emergency service covers all of Quebec. Belt failure, bearing seizure, major misalignment, structural welding — our mechanics and CWB welders mobilize within guaranteed times: 4 h for Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, 8 h for North Shore, 12 h for Montérégie and Centre-du-Québec.

What welding certifications?

We are CWB W47.1 (structural steel) certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau. All our structural welds are performed by welders qualified to this standard. For smelter sites, we provide individual welder certificates on request.

Do you work with Symaga, GSI and other brands?

Yes. We are an integrator of Symaga & GSI bucket elevators, drag chain conveyors and silos. We also work with other North American manufacturers (AGI, Sukup, Brock) per your preference. For non-standard parts, we fabricate in-shop.

Do you do laser conveyor alignment?

Yes. We offer high-precision laser alignment for: belt conveyors, chain conveyors, bucket elevators and drive shafts. It's one of the most cost-effective preventive interventions — annual alignment extends belt life 30 to 50%.

Can you replace a conveyor belt only?

Yes. We supply and install replacement belts for most brands (rubber, PVC, plastic modular, stainless). Scheduled service or emergency.

Are conveyors compliant with mining/smelter OHS requirements?

Yes. We design to CSA Z432 (Machine Safety) and include: fixed and removable guards, e-stops at code-required intervals, visual/audible signaling, easy lockout (LOTO). Cognibox CMS and Alcumus eCompliance compliant.

What's your warranty on a new conveyor?

Minimum warranty: 12 months on CWB welds and assembly from commissioning. For third-party branded parts (gear motors, bearings, belts), the manufacturer's warranty applies — typically 12 to 24 months. See our Terms and Conditions for details.

Do you work everywhere in Quebec?

Yes. Our base is in Saint-Bruno (Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean) but our mobile crews cover: Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, North Shore (Sept-Îles, Port-Cartier, Baie-Comeau, Fermont, Schefferville in camp mode), Capitale-Nationale, Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, Montérégie, Beauce, and James Bay. For Ontario and Atlantic provinces: on request.
